Asteasu's San Pedro festivals officially began yesterday with the descent of the 'Sorgina'. This year, by popular decision, representatives from the Blood Donors Association delivered the proclamation and launched the firecracker. Following this event, sweets were thrown into the square, and then the txistularis (Basque bagpipers) paraded with the giants and cabezudos Pello Mari Otaño and Teodosioko Joakin from Zizurkil.
As it was the day for 'cuadrillas' (groups of friends), the area around the square gradually filled with color as groups gathered for lunch. After the meal, a musical bingo event was organized, enjoying a great atmosphere. In the afternoon, Dj Kaktus's performance enlivened the Ibardin field, followed by the elektrotxaranga Elektrotxufla getting the town center dancing.
Being the day of the cuadrillas, the area around the square gradually filled with color for lunch, as did the young people.
Today, Saturday, Children's Day will be celebrated with games, inflatables, and activities throughout the day. In the afternoon, the youth event Konkis Txikia will be held. Additionally, there will be a cider tasting and a potato omelet competition at 18:30, followed by a 'barrikote morado' (purple gathering) and the 'toro de fuego' (fire bull). In the evening, concerts by the bands Alarma Morea and Burutik, and a set by Dj Nazaren are scheduled.
