In Alegia, repair works have started to address the damage caused by the floods of June 13 last year, focusing on five areas of the municipality, with completion expected by June 30.

The repair works will be carried out in five areas of the town: the Etxe Txuri road, the Galarreta road, the Txagalde road, the Sagasti road, and the Aldaba road. The works are already underway and are expected to be completed by June 30.
Last June's heavy rains caused significant damage not only in Alegia but also in other towns in the region such as Altzo, Berrobi, Ibarra, and Ikaztegieta. In Ikaztegieta, for instance, the access roads to two farmhouses—Txarako borda and Larrunbe txiki—were completely cut off due to floods and landslides.
This sudden downpour raised concerns about infrastructure, particularly whether rural areas are prepared to face such disasters. The Gipuzkoa Provincial Council estimated the damages at one million euros two weeks after the incident, and in September of last year, approved a budget of 1.2 million euros to assist the municipalities.
