Residents of a home in Mungia were met with an unexpected surprise this morning as a snake was found moving freely within the premises. Faced with this situation, they alerted the Bizkaia Firefighters. Initially, the reptile was thought to be a red viper.
After safely removing the snake with all necessary security measures, members of the regional service transported it in a bag to a secure location. Once there, they released it in an uninhabited area to prevent further alarm among the public.
This is the second such incident in a month. The Bizkaia Firefighters have previously conducted similar snake removals; just a month ago, a regional team intervened at a residence in La Presa, Zalla, to rescue another reptile that had entered a home.
