Extreme heat impacts most of Álava

Temperatures soared above 36 degrees in several areas, while the Montaña Alavesa region provided a slight thermal relief.

Most municipalities in Álava recorded temperatures between 34 and 35 degrees this Thursday, during a day marked by sunny weather and a yellow heat warning.

The highest temperatures were recorded in Saratxo, reaching 36.8 degrees, and Zambrana, with 36.1 degrees. Conversely, the Montaña Alavesa region offered cooler conditions, with Bernedo at 28.1 degrees and Lagrán at 27.9 degrees.
Nighttime temperatures remained high. Weather stations in Gasteiz, Antoña, Gardea, Herrera, Kapildui, and Saratxo reported minimums of 18 degrees. In Roitegi, Moreda, and Páganos, thermometers stayed above 19 to 21 degrees overnight.
Across the region, Alegia in Gipuzkoa hit a peak of 38.7 degrees. Meanwhile, the Basque coast remained cooler, with maximums of 26.1 degrees in San Sebastián and 25.6 degrees at the Port of Bilbao.
