Barakaldo CF continues to strengthen its squad for the 2026-27 season with the addition of Navarrese forward Xabi Sola.

Barakaldo CF, after narrowly missing out on the promotion play-off to Segunda División, is preparing for the 2026-27 season. Aiming to replace key departures and replicate their previous success, the Lasesarre team is announcing new signings. The latest addition, confirmed this Friday, is forward Xavier Sola.
The Navarrese forward, joining from Segunda RFEF club Coruxo, was a significant offensive threat in the division last season. He scored 15 goals in 36 appearances (29 starts), playing a crucial role in Javi Fernández's team reaching the Primera RFEF promotion play-off. The 23-year-old player, developed in the Peña Sport youth academy, has accumulated 120 matches in the fourth tier of Spanish football. He brings experience from semi-professional teams, having played for Calahorra B, Mutilvera, Oviedo Vetusta, Atlético Albacete, and Barbastro. The club highlights his "mobility, work off the ball, and goal-scoring instinct".
In Primera RFEF, Arenas has officially signed Navarrese attacker Martín Pedroarena, who debuted with Osasuna's first team in the Copa del Rey. The club stated that Pedroarena rejected more lucrative offers to join the Gobela-based team, describing him as a player with "power, character, directness, and a great shot".
Moving down to Segunda RFEF, Portugalete has announced the signing of Aimar Barrera. The winger returns to his former club after playing over 1,700 minutes for Salamanca UDS. In his previous spell, Barrera played 32 official matches, scored 6 goals, and helped the team finish as runners-up in the Basque group of Tercera RFEF.
Gernika has formalized the signing of Jon Etxeandia. The left-back, originally from the town, played last season for Derio under Iker Muniain, being an important part of their team. He made 36 appearances and scored one goal.
Sestao River has announced the contract renewal of their starting goalkeeper, Ander Iru. The Igorre-born goalkeeper has a long history in the Athletic youth system and joined SD Logroñés in 2023. He played 35 matches in the concluded season.
