The ceremony, presented by Ainhoa García, began with an address by the president of DYA, Álvaro López-Linares, who then introduced the recognition of volunteers such as Antonio Salguero and Marco Ruiz. The awards were presented by the entity's vice president, Iñigo Aguirre Villarejo, and secretary, Iñaki Santillana Aguirre.
Following a video dedicated to Doctor Usparitza, also the founder of Clínica Ginecológica Usparitza in 1954, and a performance by the Biotz Alai choir, the recipients of this first edition were announced.
The first award, presented by the president of DYA, was given to Ertzainas Gorka Llorente and Aitor García.
The association Asongalk also received an award, accepted by Josefa Ferreiro, head of the Medical Oncology Service at Galdakao-Usansolo Hospital. The award was presented by Puri Usparitza, daughter of the association's founder.
Meanwhile, Fátima Román Salpico, a nursing assistant from Gipuzkoa, received her award from the deputy mayor of the Bilbao City Council, Amaia Arregi. Before the event concluded and the commemorative exhibition for DYA's 60th anniversary was presented, Juan Ignacio Roscales, president of the Biotz Alai choir, was also recognized by the association's president.
