Ormazabal, a company specializing in electrical grid solutions, and the University of the Basque Country (UPV/EHU) have celebrated the 25th anniversary of the Aula Ormazabal at an event held in the Parque Científico y Tecnológico de Bizkaia, in Derio.
Ormazabal, an expert in technological solutions for the electrical grid, marks the 25th anniversary of the Aula Ormazabal. This pioneering university-company collaboration, established in 2001, has been instrumental in promoting practical training, knowledge transfer, and talent integration into the industrial sector.
The event, held this week at Ormazabal's facilities in Derio, was attended by Gotzone Barandika, Vice-Rector for Transfer and Internationalization at UPV/EHU, and Charles Pinto, Director of the Bilbao School of Engineering, along with other academic representatives. Ormazabal was represented by President Javier Ormazabal, CEO Jorge González, Chief Human Capital Officer Emmanuel Orio, and Marketing Director Milagros García.
The Aula Ormazabal, located at the Bilbao School of Engineering, was founded to expose students to the technological and industrial reality through applied projects addressing the company's needs. Over the years, it has facilitated the integration of nearly 60 students and the launch of 15 projects, becoming a key pathway for qualified talent and strengthening Ormazabal's technological capabilities.
