Anticipation is already building around San Mamés for the historic concert that Zetak will perform this Friday. Although the doors open at 8:30 PM, fans were already queuing by 11:00 AM.
A group of four young Zetak fans, aged between 16 and 17 and from Abadiño, Sopela, and Barakaldo, arrived at the San Mamés esplanade around 11 AM intending to secure a front-row spot for the show. Itziar Bilbao, Goizeder Oseguera, Almudena Dávila, and June Uriarte are eagerly awaiting to see Pello Reparaz on stage.
Another group of young people, from Gallarta, arrived at the venue at 12:00 PM after leaving home at 10:30 AM. They explain that they also received an email indicating "these are the good ones," so they will finally access the floor. They expect many surprises during the concert and believe the group ETS might have a role, having recently heard their music.
They admit they arrived very early because they thought there would be a large crowd and had even considered coming at six in the morning. Furthermore, they mention they couldn't attend previous concerts because they didn't get tickets. The young people from Gallarta, Oier Linaza, Jasone Delgado, and Udane Asua, are enthusiastically awaiting the anticipated Zetak concert.
“"It's not the same seeing it with someone in front of you who is 1.80 meters tall, that's why we want to be in the front row."
The young women assure that they are particularly excited to be close to the stage and that the wait is worthwhile, as they believe the experience is completely different from watching from further back, and they don't want anyone in front of them.
This is not their first time attending a Zetak concert; they went to the first Mitoaroa, an event they describe as "very beautiful" and "fun." Regarding this edition's show, they mention knowing few details beyond it addressing the future, though they are confident it will surprise them with a "grand and unexpected" staging. They are all convinced that this concert, along with Saturday's, will be "a great closing."
Mitoaroa, much more than a concert. The concert is part of the Mitoaroa initiative, a cultural project driven around Mitoaroa III that aims to make the event a broader experience than just the musical performance. The proposal seeks to value cultural creation in Basque, bringing together different artistic expressions and creating a meeting point for thousands of people around Basque music and culture.
It will be the first time a show performed entirely in Basque fills a football stadium. It will take place in Bizkaia, at San Mamés, where Zetak, Pello Reparaz's band, will close the Mitoaroa show trilogy.
