This year, the fair has a new location, moving from the Town Hall square to Zintururi square. On Friday, September 25th, it will be open from 11:00 to 13:00 in the morning and from 17:00 to 20:00 in the afternoon. The morning session is dedicated to school visits. On Saturday, September 26th, the fair will be open to the public only in the morning, from 11:00 to 14:00.
Throughout these two days, visitors can explore a curated selection of new literary and musical releases in Basque. The publisher Elkar will participate, offering a 20% discount on its products, subsidized by the City Council. Additionally, the two Municipal Libraries will have their own stand with selected materials. The Reading Corner (Irakurlearen Txokoa) will be a prominent space aimed at fostering reading habits from an early age, with activities adapted for younger audiences.
The involvement of Tarrasta Gazte Gunea will be significant, as they will once again be running their Kabinak project (booths in various locations where residents can leave or take books), aiming to promote the love of reading.
In addition to sales stalls, the fair will feature two live theater performances. On Friday, September 25th, at 18:30, the circus show UP! will be presented. On Saturday, September 26th, at 13:00, “Modernoak” by Zirka Zirkus will be performed. All shows will take place in the same square, integrating the cultural offerings into the public space.
Furthermore, this year, with the collaboration of Talka gaztegunea, young people from Etxebarri will record a podcast in Zintururi square on Friday, September 25th, at 17:00.
