The group Galbahe performed a special concert last night at Faktoria, as part of the Basa cycle, to present their new album, Ez gara dena ahazteko adina biziko.

From the outset, it was clear this would not be an ordinary concert. The songs explored themes of love, memory, wounds, and community, with the audience following the entire performance attentively and closely.
The album's tracks gained particular power live, as the band blended emotional tension and energy, transitioning seamlessly from intimate moments to collective explosions. The Basa cycle proposes a search for what the Basque language, bodies, and nature offer for vitality, and the concert resonated with this shared approach to looking at roots, reflection, and experiencing culture that the cycle promotes.

It was not just a musical performance, but a common space built with the listeners.

Galbahe's proposal connects with the concerns and memories of a generation. The prolonged applause at the end confirmed that the new album has embarked on a solid path, and that the night experienced within the Basa cycle left a special mark on those present.
Poems recited from Gotzon Barandiaran's book Galbahea constantly touched upon the vulnerability of love, the traces of memory, and the presence of death, yet avoiding a dark tone, emphasizing the need for coexistence and community. Alongside Barandiaran, five other artists took to the stage: Lander Bilbao on vocals and guitar; Mariana Blanco and Uxue Garcia on violin; Rafa Rueda on bass, guitar, and keyboards; and Urdin Baraiazarra on mandolin.
The lyrics often brought reflection to small, everyday gestures: how we remember, how we care for each other, and what remains after everything passes.
