A severe storm recorded this afternoon in Bilbao has caused a tree to fall in Doña Casilda Park, leading to the area being cordoned off for safety, fortunately with no injuries reported.

The meteorological event was accompanied by intense gusts of wind, rain, and hail, which affected various parts of Bizkaia throughout the afternoon. The tree collapsed as a result of the storm, on a day marked by instability.
The Security Department of the Basque Government had activated a yellow alert for heavy rains and the possibility of hail starting from 2:00 PM. Just minutes after the alert began, the sky over Bilbao completely darkened, and an intense downpour, accompanied at times by hail, surprised residents and pedestrians.
The storm's intensity forced many people to seek improvised shelter in doorways, bus shelters, and shops to protect themselves from the rain. The storm left images of flooded streets and isolated traffic problems in several parts of the Vizcayan capital.
After the storm, the sky cleared again, and the sun continued to shine as it had during the morning. Sunny weather is expected to continue throughout Monday, although small showers may occur in the afternoon.
