The Zeruko Quartet, a group comprising strings and piano, will perform works by Brahms and Walter Rabl this Saturday, October 3rd, at 11:00 AM, in Miramón. Tickets are available for 11 euros.
Three of the four performers are members of the Orquesta de Euskadi: Ricardo Ruiz (violin), Gabriel Mesado (cello), and Sara Zufiaurre (clarinet). Amaia Zipitria will complete the ensemble on piano.
The concert will feature Brahms's Sonata for Cello No. 1, a significant work in the Romantic chamber repertoire. This piece highlights the profound dialogue between the piano and the cello.
Following this, Walter Rabl extended the ideals of chamber music in his quartet for piano, clarinet, violin, and cello, reflecting Brahms's musical language. Rabl submitted this work in 1896 to a composition competition in Vienna, where Brahms was a judge and was deeply impressed.
These two compositions bridge the gap between the peak of German Romanticism in the second half of the 19th century and its conclusion.
Individual tickets (11€) are available for purchase on the website euskadikoorkestra.eus and at the Kursaal Auditorium box office. They can also be bought at the orchestra's headquarters on the day of the concert, subject to availability.
The Orquesta de Euskadi will provide a free bus service to attend the Miramongo Matinée. The bus departs at 10:25 AM from Gipuzkoa Plaza 4, with stops at Antso Jakituna 18 and Madril Hiribidea 34.
The Miramongo Matinée series has been supported by Kutxa Fundazioa since its inception. The new season offers 16 new events starting from October 3rd.
