The Azeta neighborhood in Portugalete is reviving its local festivals after a 14-year break, with events scheduled from October 2nd to 4th featuring a comprehensive program of activities.

The Azeta neighborhood in Portugalete is bringing back its local festivals after a 14-year absence. From October 2nd to 4th, residents will enjoy a weekend of activities thanks to the initiative of the recently established neighborhood association Azeta Batuz, which boasts over 400 members. The association has curated an extensive program with support from the Portugalete City Council and local businesses and hospitality venues.
The festivities will commence on Friday, October 2nd, at 7:00 PM, with a opening speech and firecracker launch by "Carra", a finalist and captain from the program El Conquistador. Throughout the weekend, the streets will be alive with continuous activities catering to all ages and tastes, including music, gastronomic contests, children's workshops, storytelling, inflatables, a hot chocolate event, and comedy.
Tradition will also be honored, as the Culture Department will bring giants, big-heads, txistularis (Basque flute players), and the Municipal Band to Azeta on Sunday to join the celebration.
