The Minister of Science, Universities and Innovation, Juan Ignacio Pérez Iglesias, presented the exhibition "The Day of Two Sunsets" in Bilbao's San Francisco neighborhood. This initiative focuses on the total solar eclipse that will be visible in the Basque Country on August 12.
Also participating in the event were Amaia Arregi, First Deputy Mayor and Councilor for Security of Bilbao, and members of the LOGOS Scientific Outreach Association. This association collaborates on the initiative, working to bring scientific culture closer to citizens, especially in neighborhoods with greater access difficulties. The exhibition's arrival in San Francisco reinforces this shared objective with the Department of Science, Universities and Innovation, which promotes close, accessible, and inclusive scientific outreach.
The exhibition, composed of scientific illustrations, is designed to present this astronomical phenomenon in a didactic and attractive way for all audiences, inviting society to understand and enjoy a historic event.
This exhibition is part of a traveling program that will bring science to various locations in the Basque Autonomous Community (CAPV). Driven by the Department of Science, Universities and Innovation, the initiative is supported by over 20 entities within the [Jakindari](https://www.irekia.euskadi.eus/es/news/101221-gobierno-vasco-presenta-proyecto-para-difusion-social-del-conocimiento) Alliance for Scientific Culture, including key contributors like the DIPC and the Aranzadi Science Society.
Bilbao marks the seventh stop on this tour, following previous visits to Zarautz (where the minister inaugurated it), Beasain, Zalla, Donostia, Bergara, and Durango. The four totems that make up the structure will continue their journey through public and cultural spaces in Barakaldo, Vitoria-Gasteiz, Salinas de Añana, Valdegovía, La Puebla de Labarca, and Laguardia.
In parallel with the exhibition, the Bizkaia Astronomy Association, Astrobizkaia, has organized an astronomical observation for Saturday, June 6, at 12:00 PM, in the Corazón de María square in Bilbao's San Francisco neighborhood.
All information about the activities organized around the exhibition is available on the official website [eklipsea.euskadi.eus](https://eklipsea.euskadi.eus/es/home), which also includes outreach content, practical tips for observing the eclipse, and multimedia resources.
