The commerce and services association Bilbao Centro held the third edition of its Professional Career Recognitions, honoring key individuals in commerce, radio, and hospitality who have contributed to defining the city's character.

The event took place at the Bilbao Centro headquarters, where creative director Olga Zulueta thanked attendees and emphasized that the gala transcends protocol, serving as a collective act of gratitude to acknowledge the legacy of the awardees.
Among the honorees was a communicator, nearing 47 years since his debut on Los 40 Principales of Radio Bilbao. He expressed his satisfaction with the recognition and thanked Bilbao Centro for the support received from citizens and local businesses throughout his four decades in radio.

"I really like the mountains and Gorbea is emblematic for me, so during the centenary of the Gorbea Cross we did a live program from the summit, it was in 2001, so this year the Cross celebrates 125 years."

He recalled one of the most memorable moments of his career, linked to his passion for nature. During the centenary of the Gorbea Cross in 2001, they broadcast a live radio show from the summit, marking the first time a station connected from there, despite adverse weather conditions.
Another prominent local radio personality also received an award, after more than four decades in various media. He described his experience on Radio Popular's La Flor de la Canela program, where he has discussed culture every Saturday for thirty-three years. He stated that he does not wish to speak of endings and prefers that others make the decision regarding his retirement.
A third-generation member of Charcutería San Mamés was also recognized. His grandfather started the business in 1951, and since 2016, he has managed it with his sister. Similarly, the proprietors of Bar Roma and Jateko received awards, both being benchmarks in Bilbao's hospitality sector. Representatives from Joyería Matia and the charitable organization Lions Bilbao were also honored.
