Bilbao embraces rugby finals with interactive technology and fan zones

Local institutions have launched an immersive rugby experience on Gran Vía and a fan village in Doña Casilda.

The Basque Government, the Provincial Council of Bizkaia, and the Bilbao City Council have launched a series of initiatives to engage the public ahead of the upcoming rugby finals.

A technological installation located on Gran Vía allows citizens to simulate a rugby match using a vertical screen and floor sensors. This interactive experience will remain open until May 23, providing an innovative way to experience the sport before the matches take place at San Mamés.
Furthermore, Doña Casilda park will host the Champions Rugby Village, the official fan zone. On May 22 and 23, this area will offer a free program featuring music, sports activities, and live broadcasts of the EPCR Challenge Cup and the Investec Champions Cup.
The urban atmosphere is further enhanced by decorative elements on institutional buildings and key city locations, highlighting Bilbao's commitment to hosting major international sporting events.
