Bilbao is already immersed in a festive mood, marked by a significant influx of people. Hundreds of students are gathering around San Mamés for the traditional EHU graduation party, while simultaneously, Iberdrola is celebrating its 125th anniversary with invited guests in another major event. Two distinct celebrations coincide in the city, creating a bustling day.
Music is the star in Bilbao today. A special atmosphere has been palpable throughout the city since the morning, with more people than usual. Spontaneous street gatherings and crowded public transport are evident. The areas around San Mamés and Doña Casilda Park are teeming with crowds. Over 4,000 final-year undergraduate and postgraduate students are attending the grand graduation ceremony of EHU, alongside others heading to the large-scale concerts organized by Iberdrola to mark the company's 125th anniversary.
Bilbao is revving up for one of the most spectacular afternoons and evenings of the year. The musical lineup is designed for all audiences, blending international appeal with national talent and the local scene. The promise was to transform the heart of the city into a vibrant stage of rhythm, lights, and technology.
And the promise is being fulfilled. The music venue began to fill progressively from 4:30 PM, starting with a performance by the San Sebastián-based singer Süne. More than six hours of music lie ahead, featuring Süne, Rigoberta Bandini, Antonio Orozco, and Juanes, offering a diverse program for everyone.
