Civil Protection officers from Barakaldo were dispatched to the El Regato area after receiving a report from a local resident about a young deer trapped in the river, under pressure from a hunting dog.
Upon arrival, responders confirmed the animal was visibly disoriented and unable to leave the area due to the dog's persistent pressure. In response to this situation, and with the assistance of several local residents, the decision was made to remove the dog to reduce the fawn's stress and minimize the risk of injury.
The operation conducted by Barakaldo Civil Protection consistently prioritized the animal's welfare, avoiding any intervention that could further disrupt its natural behavior.
Once the area was secured and calm, the decision was made to maintain a distance and allow the young deer to return to the forest on its own.
