The Gurutzeta neighborhood in Barakaldo now has five new public surveillance cameras aimed at enhancing security and preventing crime.

The Gurutzeta neighborhood in Barakaldo will benefit from improved surveillance with the installation of five new public cameras. These devices are placed between the bowling alley and the metro station area, adding to existing cameras throughout the neighborhood.
Ángel Madrazo, councilor for Citizen Security at the Barakaldo City Council, stated, "From the Municipal Area of Citizen Security, we are fulfilling the commitment made to the residents of this neighborhood to strengthen coexistence, safety, and the prevention of criminal acts." These devices will complement the patrol and surveillance efforts carried out by the local police in the area.
Gurutzeta is not the only area in Barakaldo set to receive new cameras. The municipal council is implementing a comprehensive security strategy, with camera installation being a key component. Consequently, new cameras will be deployed in strategic locations across Barakaldo in the coming months, following a technical and security analysis that prioritized the busiest areas.
"We want our residents to be able to move around public spaces safely, without fear of robberies or damage to businesses. Measures like this contribute to improving their quality of life," Madrazo concluded.
