The Urretxu City Council has initiated the selection process for the image that will illustrate the 2026 Santa Anastasia festival program, highlighting participation and festive vitality.

Through this annual competition, the aim is to choose the image that will represent the municipality's patronal festival. This year's key novelty is the special emphasis on proposals that can convey the joy and vibrant community spirit of the festivities.
The rules explicitly state that works must reflect the spirit of the Santa Anastasia festivities: the color, the atmosphere, the participation, and the lively energy of the town's celebrations.
Anyone can participate, submitting a maximum of three works. Submissions must be original and unpublished, and cannot be created using Artificial Intelligence. Urretxu's festivals are natural and authentic, requiring no artifice to achieve a spectacular atmosphere.
A variety of techniques will be accepted, including digital design, illustration, drawing, collage, painting, photography, photomontage, engraving, watercolor, mixed media, lettering, typographic composition, or other plastic or graphic techniques. Works must include the text: Urretxuko jaiak 2026 Santa Anastasia.
The image should strive for gender balance in its representation, avoiding the reinforcement of traditional roles or stereotypes, and refraining from any pejorative treatment of differences. Sexist or political claims, as well as messages related to alcohol or drug consumption, will not be permitted.
Works must be submitted before June 26th, by 8:00 PM, at the Aizpurunea cultural center (Jauregi 19, Urretxu). The dimensions should be 21 cm high by 22.5 cm wide, reinforced on the reverse with a 30x35 cm cardstock.
The contest will feature a single prize of 300 euros. The winning artwork will become the property of the Urretxu City Council, which reserves all rights for its printing, publication, dissemination, and use. The jury will announce its decision in July, on a date to be previously announced, during the award ceremony at the Aizpurunea cultural center.
The possibility of organizing an exhibition with the submitted works is also being considered. The winning artwork, along with other submissions or a selection by the jury, may be exhibited at the Aizpurunea cultural center in Urretxu until September 22nd.
The Urretxu City Council encourages citizens and creators alike to participate and submit a lively, joyful, and expressive artwork that represents the image of the Santa Anastasia festivities. "As a space for meeting, celebration, and popular participation, the festivals need a poster capable of capturing and conveying that same spirit."
