Beasain has officially launched its Loinatz Jaiak, inaugurating the celebrations with an exceptional atmosphere and high participation. The festivities began on Friday night when the main square was filled to welcome Mari, a beloved local figure. Amidst applause and singing, she made her traditional appearance before being burned in a bonfire, marking the end of the event in an intense and festive mood.
Saturday began with the Diana played by the txistularis of Goizeresi, who paraded through the streets from early morning, livening up the town. The good weather has been a favorable companion, allowing for the normal development of activities such as the sale of the Beasain Festivo magazine, a highly anticipated annual event. The mass held at the Loinaz hermitage also drew a large crowd for its traditional morning celebration.
At midday, the children's drum parade filled the streets with music and movement, featuring the participation of numerous boys and girls. The parade was accompanied by the Koskola txaranga, the local Music Band, and the giants from the Ekaitz comparsa, who joined the procession to the main square.
In the afternoon, the focus shifted to activities for young people, including a circus workshop organized by Zirkum Zirkus, which attracted many participants. Later, the adult drum parade traversed the town, starting from the sculpture dedicated to asbestos victims and concluding in the square with a retreta.
The evening will continue with musical performances animating the Bideluze square (Neomak and I.C & Hodi), and an information point against gender-based violence has also been set up. The start of the festivities has been very positive, and the program will continue throughout the weekend with new activities.
