Erlantz Tejada victorious in Zumarraga boxing event at Beloki

Erlantz Tejada secured a professional victory last Saturday at the Beloki fronton in Zumarraga, during a boxing gala organized by Euskobox. The Galilea bar hosted the weigh-in event.

The Galilea bar in Zumarraga buzzed with excitement last Saturday, serving as the venue for the weigh-in ahead of the boxing gala organized by Euskobox. Bar owner Joseba Iturbe described the experience as "fantastic," noting that the boxers felt comfortable. Here, rivals shared the moment of making weight, exchanging handshakes and expressing their desire for a good fight, all under the watchful eyes of photographers and fans.
Later, at the Beloki fronton, nine bouts (one professional and eight amateur) delivered a thrilling spectacle. In the professional fight, Erlantz Tejada clearly defeated a spirited Pattin. The 22-year-old from Biscay extended his undefeated record to 7-0, demonstrating significant control and maturity over six rounds. Euskobox sources commented that "the Beloki fronton roared again with the echo of good boxing," and that Tejada is "claiming his place in the title contention".
Local boxers Gabriel Moreno and Ekaitz Jaunarena (from the Eraztunbox school) did not share the same success, losing their respective amateur bouts. Their coach, Aitor Abel, expressed "satisfaction" with their performance, emphasizing the quality of work and preparation over the final result. He noted that for Moreno, it was his third fight and he has been boxing for less than a year, despite facing difficulties in the second round. Abel also praised Jaunarena's consistent effort and ability to follow technical instructions, developing his natural potential. According to Abel, both fights were very evenly matched, and his boxers practice a "clean, respectful, and sporting" style.
The remaining bouts also provided a "great sporting spectacle" at the Beloki, notably including victories for Ignacio Mendoza and José Quiroz against the two-time Euskadi champion Ayyoub Mlazli.
Erlantz Tejada, who previously boxed in the town a few months ago, stated it was a "great pleasure" to fight in Zumarraga again, where he feels he is "making his mark." "The people are growing fond of me and supporting me a lot," he added gratefully.
