This initiative, developed over the past two years, has taken a significant step this season by moving from analyzing the situation to implementing concrete actions, building upon previous diagnostic information. Each club has designed and launched its own micro-plan, tailored to its specific reality, pace, and needs.
Jon Luqui, president of the Mancomunidad, emphasized that sport is a "strategic space for the socialization of children and young people," making it "an important area to protect and provide oxygen for Euskera." At the event, he was joined by Felipe Elgarresta, president of Urola, and Sergio Galdeano, delegate for the basketball section of Goierri. Representatives from Ilintxa, unable to attend, conveyed their positive assessment.
Felipe Elgarresta, from Urola, described the process as "very enriching." The club has defined its Euskera Strategic Plan, established a monitoring system, and created an action plan for 2026. This includes unifying terminology, creating new documents, and working with coaches to promote Euskera usage.
Sergio Galdeano, representing Goierri, stated that the micro-plan has helped them "analyze the situation, set priorities, and agree on concrete steps." Their current focus is on three main areas: coach involvement, defining linguistic criteria, and disseminating the plan among all club members. "Crucially, we have begun incorporating Euskera management into our daily club decisions," he added.
Ilintxa also provided a positive evaluation, recognizing the "need to strategically reflect on and work on the use of Euskera." The club is committed to continuing the development and implementation of its plan.
Jon Luqui deemed the results "satisfactory," highlighting that "a new culture regarding Euskera management has begun to be built within the clubs." Future challenges include continued collaboration with participating clubs, enhancing their autonomy, ensuring the initiative directly impacts Euskera use in training sessions, and attracting more clubs to the project.
The event concluded with the signing of an agreement to ensure the project's continuity between the Mancomunidad, Urola, Ilintxa, and Goierri.
