Dantzari Txiki Eguna Brings Joy to the Streets of Zumarraga and Beasain

Children and young people enthusiastically paraded, celebrating traditional Basque dances and creating a vibrant atmosphere in both towns.

The towns of Zumarraga and Beasain celebrated the Dantzari Txiki Eguna today, an event where children and young people showcased traditional Basque dances, filling the streets with joy and color.

In the midst of the traditional Basque dance season, Zumarraga and Beasain were the protagonists today with the celebration of Dantzari Txiki Eguna. Child and youth dancers performed with great enthusiasm, creating a festive atmosphere in the streets of both towns.
In Zumarraga, the event organized by the Irrintzi dance group, brought together several formations: Amaiur (Uharte), Berriztasuna (Portugalete), Jalgi (Zarautz), Lurra (Urretxu), Oinarin (Antzuola), Oin Arin (Lazkao), Oñatz (Oñati), Orbeldi (Usurbil) and the local group Irrintzi (Urretxu-Zumarraga). Participants gathered at 10:45 AM in the station square, starting the parade at 11:30 AM through the streets of Zumarraga, culminating in Euskadi Square. There, at 1:00 PM, the aurresku and Ikurrin dantza were performed. In the afternoon, at 4:30 PM, there was a guided dance session in the Kalebarren-Areizaga tent.
In Beasain, the Aurtzaka group also organized the Dantzari Txikia, with the participation of ten groups: Ostadar (Beasain), Oin Arin (Lazkao), Otsoak (Ataun), Goruntz (Gabiri), Lurra (Urretxu), Amets Bide (Ordizi), Ereintza (Orereta), Txori Txiki (Zumaia), Iztueta (Zaldibi) and Aurtzaka itself. The dancers gathered at 10:45 AM in Dolarea Park, from where they toured the streets of Beasain, ending the kalejira in San Martín Square. In the afternoon, a dance was held with the Eingo group.
