Arrano Kulturak will promote a new initiative in Beasain, aimed at amateur writers from the town and surrounding areas, with the objective of creating a collection of short stories. The first meeting for those interested in participating will take place on June 10th, at 6:30 PM, at the Arrano Elkartea.
The association has announced that they will be looking for medium-length works, ranging from 20,000 to 40,000 characters. "If you are a literature enthusiast, accustomed to writing, and enjoy narrative, especially short stories, this will interest you. If writing a medium-length work doesn't daunt you, this is your next project," they stated.
The driving force behind the project is a group of literature enthusiasts from Beasain, aged between 20 and 80 years old. The primary requirement for participation is a connection to Beasain, either through residency or origin, in addition to a passion for writing.
The completion of the collection is anticipated for March 2027. They seek diversity in author profiles, themes, genres, and perspectives, encouraging each participant to "stir the spirit of Beasain" in their own style. The organizing group understands that Beasain will be what provides unity and a collective character to the collection, with the town itself serving as the context, protagonist, or source of learning.
