The Gipuzkoa Basket basketball team has qualified for the promotion playoffs to the ACB League, after concluding the regular season in fifth position. Despite a loss in their final match against Obradoiro (85-68), this result ensures them home-court advantage in the elimination rounds.
The Donostia team must overcome sixth-placed Oviedo to reach the final four phase. The playoff series will be played best of five games, and Gipuzkoa Basket will need to win three to advance. The first two games will take place at the Gaska sports center on May 15 (7:30 PM) and May 17 (5:00 PM).
Notably, Gipuzkoa Basket's Senegalese player, Tanor Ngom, was recognized as the best player of the round, despite his team's defeat. In addition to basketball results, the weekend also saw other sports outcomes. The Real Sociedad women's football team defeated Granada 3-0, while the men's team drew 2-2 with Betis. The women's field hockey team also achieved a 2-2 draw against Sardinero.
