Caritas Gipuzkoa commemorated its sixtieth anniversary in Trinidad Square, San Sebastián, expressing gratitude for the dedication of its volunteers and board members, and reaffirming its commitment to solidarity.

The organization, dedicated to helping people in need, reached its 60th year in 2026. To celebrate, it organized a festive event in Trinidad Square, aiming to recognize the work of its volunteers and management. The event took place last Friday at noon and gathered numerous members of the association from across the Gipuzkoa territory.
During the event, the organization's leaders spoke, emphasizing the volunteers' dedication and their continuous commitment to solidarity. A volunteer stated that the best news would be the disappearance of Caritas Gipuzkoa, as that would signify there were no longer needs for the entity to address.

"The best news would be for Caritas Gipuzkoa to disappear because that would mean there would be no needs for this entity to cover."

The celebration was enlivened with music from trikitixa and pandero, as well as the voices of the popular choir from the Beraun neighborhood of Errenteria, who performed songs such as Loretxoa and Ikusi Mendizaleak. All attendees shared pastries and a commemorative cake donated by the sweet gastronomy association Gozoa.
The event was attended by board members of Caritas Gipuzkoa, staff, volunteers, and participants from the entity's centers and programs, coming from various towns in Gipuzkoa, including Irún, Villabona, and Lasarte-Oria.
