The town of Murgia will step back in time this Saturday for its third Murgia Retro event, supported by the Zuia City Council, the Provincial Council of Álava, and the Murgia Administrative Board.

Murgia is set to travel back in time this Saturday with the third edition of Murgia Retro. This event is supported by the Zuia City Council, the Provincial Council of Álava, and the Murgia Administrative Board, and has been organized with the help of the Basque Classic Club and fans of the Mundo Reborn.
The Plaza del Ayuntamiento in Zuia and its surroundings will be filled with a festive atmosphere and vintage charm. Knights, ladies, young people, and those with vintage baby prams will mingle among classic vehicles, creating a nostalgic and unique setting.
Participation requires prior registration. Those arriving with a classic car must pay 25 euros (limited spaces) and contact Josean at 609 431 052. Participants attending in period dress (from the 1920s to the 1950s) should call Nina at 609 870 632.
The event will commence at 11:00 AM, with vehicle reception starting at 10:00 AM, followed by breakfast and the distribution of credentials. Around midday, a classic car parade will take place, followed by a grand retro pedestrian parade at 1:15 PM with all participants.
The event, concluding at 6:00 PM, will also feature live music from the Gasteiz-based flamenco group Yahorake.
In its first edition, around fifty participants from various provinces attended, perfectly characterized in early 20th-century attire. Attendees included gentlemen, ladies, bearers of baby prams (Reborn dolls), elegant villagers, and even a World War II soldier, who paraded through the town delighting the numerous onlookers.
Regarding vehicles, a dozen models were present, ranging from the early decades of the 20th century to a beautiful 1973 Buick Riviera. A vintage gramophone playing melodies from the 1920s provided the perfect closing touch.
Additionally, on June 27th, Artziniega will host the American sports and classic car club Turbinando between 12:00 PM and 2:00 PM. The City Council will designate Barrenkale street for parking, allowing the public to admire striking models such as Mustangs, Cadillacs, and Corvettes.
