The association Goierriko Mendizale Beteranoak has unveiled its latest project: a new guide titled 'Euskal Herriko mugak oinez' (The Borders of Euskal Herria on Foot). This work outlines an extensive route circumnavigating Euskal Herria, divided into a total of 66 stages and passing through the seven historical territories.
The guide specifies several particular routes, such as the 19-kilometer stage between Ranero (Cantabria) and Lanestosa (Bizkaia), as well as the medieval necropolis near Bastida (Araba), the path between Belagua and Isaba (Navarre), and the trek between Ereta and Laskun.
Additionally, it includes other notable points such as the route between Belagua and Linza, the Baretos area, the castle of Agramondarren, the section between Hendaye and Getaria, the area behind the Gorobel mountain range, the source of the Biduze river, and the journey between Iskiula and Mitikile.
They have traced the perimeter of Euskal Herria in 66 stages, across seven territories.
This endeavor by the association offers hikers a unique opportunity to discover the landscape and culture of Euskal Herria on foot, practically experiencing the distinct characteristics and history of each territory.
