The aging population and the rise in dependency situations have made the transformation of care systems a significant challenge. To address this, Ikerlan and Ubikare have created the ESSAD digital infrastructure, unifying essential healthcare information and facilitating a comprehensive user perspective.
This project will enable "data to move with the person," regardless of where they receive care. Consequently, if a user changes caregivers or relocates to another municipality, their assessments and procedures will travel with them, eliminating the need to repeat administrative processes.
Both companies have joined forces to advance towards a more connected, efficient, and person-centered care model. Ubikare contributes its "experience in managing care services and developing digital socio-health solutions," while IKERLAN offers its "technological capacity in digitalization, interoperability, data spaces, cybersecurity, and reliable information management."
The new ESSAD system will bring specific improvements: for users, more continuous and personalized care; for professionals, the ability to make faster decisions based on updated and reliable information; and for administrations, a reduction in bureaucratic burdens and optimized public resource planning.
This initiative has received funding from the European Union, as part of the Recovery, Transformation, and Resilience Plan, with the objective of building secure and reliable data spaces.
