Bergara's Pentecost festival is ready to commence, with its main events relocated to Oxirondo this year due to construction work in San Martín square.

The San Martín square, a long-standing venue for the start of the Pentecost festival, will not be available this year due to ongoing works. Nevertheless, the festival committee has been working to ensure that the core elements and emotions of the celebration are preserved, allowing Bergara residents to enjoy the usual festive atmosphere, albeit with a different setup.
The festival will officially begin on May 22nd from the main stage in Oxirondo, which will host the 'txupinazo' (opening rocket) and the descent of Bitorianatxo. The Bergara City Council has emphasized that Bitorianatxo will not be absent, despite an unusual route this year. The character will start its journey from the Santa Marina bell tower and reach the Oxirondo stage, as construction has necessitated the relocation of key activities.
The 'txupinazo' also features a novelty this year: it will be launched by the Lokatza Cycling School, which is celebrating its 50th anniversary. Martin Etxeberria, a member of the cycling school, expressed surprise and gratitude for the responsibility entrusted to them by the festival committee and the City Council.
Furthermore, there will be an innovation in Bitorianatxo's descent: this year, 90 citizens will have the chance to become Bitorianatxo for a day through an activity called 'Emotions Zipline'. This event will take place on May 26th, open to participants aged 10 to 16, and those over 16. Registration must be completed before Sunday via the website www.bergara.eus.
