It appears we have reached the midpoint of the heatwave, and the forecasted warnings, alerts, and alarms are gradually decreasing. We have gone from having around a dozen advisories in recent days to about half a dozen now.
However, we will continue to contend with the stifling heat this Wednesday and Thursday, June 24th and 25th, respectively. Following the orange alert over the weekend, a red alarm was issued at the beginning of the week. Since yesterday, we have been on orange alert (and the red alarm remains in effect for the interior of Gipuzkoa). Although today it was warned that we would be on orange alert, we have moved back to red alarm. It will cool down significantly on Thursday evening.
On June 24th, Wednesday, there will be a red alarm due to extremely high temperatures (in the interior of Gipuzkoa), between 12:00 PM and 8:00 PM. The orange alert for persistent high temperatures will be in effect all day, and a yellow advisory for the risk of forest fires.
On June 25th, Thursday, the orange alert for persistent high temperatures will be in effect all day, and a yellow advisory for extremely high temperatures between 12:00 PM and 6:00 PM. By the end of the day, Thursday afternoon and evening, it will cool down significantly, according to the meteorological agency Euskalmet.
These days, as forecasted by the meteorological agency Euskalmet, we could experience temperatures around 36 degrees Celsius. Today's minimum temperature will be 25 degrees. Tomorrow evening, it will begin to cool down, and on Thursday afternoon and night, the temperature could drop below 20 degrees within a few hours.
On Wednesday, June 24th, the weather will be sunny, with some mid-level and high clouds in the afternoon and evening. In the morning, a south wind will blow, changing to a north wind in the afternoon, with little or slight changes or increases in temperature.
On Thursday, the 25th, there will be a significant change at the end of the day. The sky will be partly cloudy, and clouds will increase in the afternoon, potentially bringing stormy showers. The wind will be light and variable, with a northwesterly wind becoming dominant from midday with some strong gusts. Temperatures will drop considerably or significantly, especially the maximums.
On Friday, the sky will be mostly clear or partly cloudy, with low clouds in the early morning and some heat clouds in the afternoon. Occasional showers may occur. A sea breeze will blow along the coast. Minimum temperatures will drop slightly, and maximum temperatures will drop considerably, hovering around 25 degrees.
