The town of Berriz has launched the 'Geurie erabili zeinke' project, an initiative aimed at reducing mobile phone dependency among children and teenagers while encouraging the use of public spaces.

Promoted by the group Altxau Burue Berriz, the project allows local shops, hospitality services, and other businesses to make a phone available to minors. Participating establishments will display a specific sticker, making it easy for children and teenagers to identify them.
According to the organizers, the main goal is to decrease the need for minors to carry mobile devices, allowing them to reclaim and enjoy public areas. Additionally, the initiative seeks to foster community care and strengthen local support networks.
The organizers have invited all local businesses and stakeholders to join the initiative, aiming to expand this network throughout the entire municipality.
