This parking facility is understood as a provisional solution, developed in collaboration with local residents. The primary objective was to clear the path alongside the stream to ensure adequate access for emergency services. Consequently, the measure is urgent and temporary, but also seeks to alleviate the lack of parking in the neighborhood.
Given its rural location, the parking area has been constructed using 'todo-uno' material, which is considered more natural and easier to reuse or remove. Authorities highlight that this material will allow the ground to absorb water naturally. The local institution has stated that it is not yet clear whether this solution will be permanent, as its actual usage will be monitored to determine if more space is needed in the future or if the area should be restored.
“"The aim is to measure its actual use to decide if more space is needed in the future or if the area should be recovered."
In the coming days, weather permitting, the pedestrian pathway to the parking area will be painted and signposted, extending also to Loidi, thereby enhancing pedestrian safety and accessibility. These works will be carried out concurrently with pedestrian markings planned for the Santa Bárbara neighborhood, from the Alberro cider house to the Jauregi neighborhood, promoting sustainable mobility and pedestrian priority in the area.
