A 40-year-old man has been arrested in Pasaia after the Ertzaintza discovered 2.6 kilos of hashish inside his vehicle. The car had been removed from the public road by the municipal crane for being illegally parked in a driveway and was located at the Pasaia Local Police impound lot.
An Ertzaintza patrol went to the location suspecting that narcotic substances might be inside the car. They accompanied the vehicle's owner to the parking area. The man stated he was not the usual driver and did not have the keys at the moment, but officers inspected the interior as one of the doors was open. They found 30 packages of hashish in two bags under the front seats, weighing a total of 2.6 kilograms.
The man was arrested as the alleged perpetrator of a drug trafficking offense and taken to the police station, from where he will be brought before the judicial authorities, the Department of Security reported.
