Lasarte-Oria welcomes July with the street performance 'Kale hizketak' by the Kukai Dantza company. The show will take place today, Friday, at seven in the evening in Okendo Plaza and will be free of charge. In case of rain, the event will be moved to the Oriarte-Landaberri hall.
The company explains that this work reflects how the streets of our towns and cities are a mirror of current social and cultural diversity. Four dancers and a musician, with different means of expression, establish communication among themselves, using urban, traditional, and flamenco dance, linked with live percussion and electronic music.
“"La diferencia se convierte en oportunidad y, sin renunciar a su propio lenguaje, se entabla un diálogo entre ellos. Así son las actuales conversaciones de la calle, ricas y múltiples comunicaciones que se construyen escuchando a los demás a partir de lo que uno tiene, ofreciendo lo propio y recogiendo lo ajeno."
Kukai Dantza is a company founded in Errenteria, established by dancer Jon Maya in 2001. With contemporary creation based on traditional dance as its hallmark, it has cultivated its own language and has created numerous successful shows, such as 'Oskara', 'Erritu', 'Gelajauziak', and 'Topa'. It has also collaborated with choreographers like Marcos Morau, Israel Galván, and Cesc Gelabert.
