Hernani made its intentions clear in the Interpueblos Championship by winning the second round against Aretxabaleta. In the cadet category, Akizu and Elkorobarrutia were unable to overcome Labaka and Zugasti, losing 3-22. The same pattern occurred in the youth category, where the team of Gonzalez and Iba only managed to score four points against Alberdi and Oses.

In the senior category, despite Lanzos and Zugasti playing a more closely contested match, they lost 10-22 against Apaolaza and Oiartzabal. Although the return matches are yet to be played in Hernani, the tie has become very difficult for Aretxabaleta.

Nevertheless, participating in the championship and having advanced from last week's round is a significant achievement for Aretxabaleta.
