The use of Dbus buses in San Sebastián during the 2026 Aste Nagusia was massive. Between August 8th and 15th, 870,508 journeys were made, a 2% increase compared to the 854,279 recorded in 2025, establishing a new record for public transport usage in the city.
This year's Aste Nagusia thus becomes the busiest in terms of bus usage in history, surpassing the 2025 figures. The 2024 Aste Nagusia (805,580 journeys) and the 2010 Aste Nagusia (800,945 journeys) also feature in the ranking.
Within Aste Nagusia, the busiest days were August 14th (127,400 journeys), August 12th (122,565 journeys), and August 11th (117,913 journeys). August 14th ranks as the third busiest day for bus usage in DBUS history.
The daily breakdown of journeys is as follows: Saturday, August 8th (102,269); Sunday, August 9th (76,433); Monday, August 10th (116,784); Tuesday, August 11th (117,913); Wednesday, August 12th (112,957); Thursday, August 13th (122,565); Friday, August 14th (127,400); and Saturday, August 15th (94,187).
The most used lines during Aste Nagusia were those serving Amara (lines 17, 21, 26, and 28), with 225,420 journeys, followed by those in Antiguo (lines 5, 25, 33, 40, and 45), with 181,125 journeys; Altza-Bidebieta (lines 13-14), with 140,732 journeys; Aiete (lines 18, 19, 23, 31, 32, and 46), with 91,325 journeys; and Egia-Intxaurrondo (lines 8, 9, 29, and 42), with 88,672 journeys. The minibuses recorded 28,045 journeys.
The bus service to Illunbe for the bullfights registered 4,228 journeys, a figure similar to last year's. Dbus provided over 23,400 services during these days, with 270 drivers working daily, supported by an additional 45 staff members.
