The luxury cruise ship 'Azamara Quest' arrived this Sunday morning in the bay of Pasaia, from where it will set sail this afternoon towards its next destination, Bordeaux.

The port of Pasaia welcomed the luxury cruise ship 'Azamara Quest' this morning. The first rays of sun illuminated the vessel's arrival, accompanied by the cries of birds flying over Jaizkibel mountain. Two tugboats guided the 181-meter-long and 25-meter-wide ship to the Buenavista quay, where after nearly an hour of maneuvers, it successfully docked.
Passengers admired the town's houses and port cranes while photographing the still-sleeping town. This cruise is part of a fourteen-night Spanish tour that began in Barcelona and will end in Bordeaux. The route has also included stops in Valencia, Cartagena, Málaga, Gibraltar, Sevilla, Lisbon, and Oporto, after passing through Bilbao.
The ship, sailing under the flag of the Marshall Islands, belongs to the American company Azamara, specializing in luxury boutique cruises and owned by the investment fund Sycamore Partners. They have been including Pasaia in their itineraries for years, and last year the 'Azamara Quest' itself called there, with the promise of showcasing this charming Basque fishing town.
The vessel has eleven decks and 300 cabins, with a capacity for a maximum of 700 passengers and 400 crew members. Onboard, there are multiple restaurants, wellness centers, a casino, a disco, and a theater, as well as swimming pools, a hairdresser, and a spa. By the end of the year, a dozen exclusive premier suites will be added.
This is the fifth passenger ship to arrive in Pasaia this year. The 2026 cruise season will conclude in the second half of August with the arrival of the ship 'Deutschland'.
