Astigarraga celebrates its 26th Apple Festival

The event, focused on cider culture, brought together cider producers, cultural groups, and residents in a festive atmosphere at Foru Square.

Astigarraga's Foru Square hosted this year's 26th edition of Sagar Uzta, a celebration dedicated to cider and apple culture in a vibrant festive atmosphere.

The 26th edition of Sagar Uzta was celebrated this year, creating an excellent atmosphere in Astigarraga's Foru Square. Numerous activities centered on cider culture were organized, and the participation of cider producers, the sector, institutions, bar owners, and cultural groups was highlighted. Among them were the Astigarraga City Council, Astigar E.O.E., Gure Izarra, Goldea Herri Kirol Batzordea, Mundarro Kirol Elkartea, Norberto Almandoz Music School, Xaguxar, Zipotza Kultur Elkartea, Txirriskla Txistulari Taldea, Erbitegi Etxeberri Txalaparta Taldea, and Astigarte.
In the must tasting, ten cider houses participated: Alorrenea, Astarbe, Bereziartua, Etxeberria, Gurutzeta, Lizeaga, Mendizabal, Oyarbide, Petritegi, and Zapiain. In the pintxo competition, seven bars took part: Zipotza, Laket, Beti Goxo, Kaizoku, Ibai Lur, Bukoi, and The Robin.
The activities organized for Sagar Uzta took place over three days, yielding very positive results. In total, the organization received the support of over 125 people, many of them volunteers. They are thanked for their essential work in ensuring the proper execution of all planned events.
Regarding participation in the activities, the following figures were notable: 32 people joined a mountain route with an apple tour; 170 children and parents participated in the apple must elaboration; 10 cider houses were involved in cider and must tasting; 5 people entered the Sagar Uzta Photography Rally; and approximately 1,300 people attended the cider and must tasting. Additionally, the apple fair featured participation from Astigarraga farmers, Josu Osa, AEK, and the Renewable Energy team. Around 200 people were present at the pelota match.
