An aizkolari, known as Ernesto Ezpelta Bihurri, has achieved an impressive feat in Bergara, managing to cut twelve automobiles with an axe in a record time of one hour and five minutes. This event was organized to celebrate a sponsor's anniversary, and the aizkolari himself stated that it was something never done before, requiring extensive preparation.
“"I cut 12 cars, something no one had ever done. I did it all with the axe in one hour and five minutes. The workshop is my sponsor, and they suggested doing something special for their anniversary. In the end, this challenge came about."
He admitted that it was a tough job, as some cars were particularly sturdy. Nevertheless, he expressed satisfaction with the outcome and the public's reaction, emphasizing that the event was engaging and enjoyable.
“"Some were very tough and cost me a lot, but I succeeded. I was also very pleased to see that people liked it; it was attractive and beautiful."
Although born in Eibar, the aizkolari explained that he has a strong connection to Bergara, as his grandfather was from there and he has family and friends in the town. For this reason, he stated that Bergara is his favorite town.
