This change is the result of an internal reflection process that began in 2016. While the eagle and deer from the Oñati coat of arms have been retained, the dancer figure previously in the foreground has been replaced by the Corpus dancer.
The new design is the culmination of a long process aimed at achieving an image without gender distinction and strengthening ties with Oñati. The updated emblem was displayed on a banner on the town hall facade and on the group members' shirts.
