The Musakola neighborhood of Arrasate witnessed a police operation this Sunday. The National Police intervened in Gipuzkoa to recover a minor who had been kidnapped two weeks ago by their biological family in Torrelavega (Cantabria), where they had been living with a foster family for approximately two months.
The operation was coordinated by the National Police's Family and Minor Care Unit (UFAM). Sources from the police force explained that the case arose after social services of the Provincial Council of Gipuzkoa received reports from the child's school and neighbors regarding the conditions in which the minor was living with their relatives.
The intervention of these services led to the decision to temporarily separate the child from their parents and assign them to a foster family. With the aim of removing the child from their environment, their care was entrusted to a family in Torrelavega (Cantabria) about two months ago, according to consulted sources.
Subsequently, the minor's biological family reportedly made efforts to discover their whereabouts and, once discovered, went to Torrelavega about twenty days ago and collected the child as they left school. Following this family kidnapping, the National Police were ordered by a judge to recover the minor and return them to their foster parents. The operation was carried out this Sunday without any incidents.
