Igor Herrarte has assumed the presidency of the Fagor Group, succeeding Joxean Alustiza. Herrarte, previously president of Mondragon Assembly, will now head the cooperative group that surpassed 1,735 million euros in sales in 2025.

Igor Herrarte, formerly president of the cooperative Mondragon Assembly, has taken over from Joxean Alustiza as the new president of the Fagor Group. In his farewell address, Alustiza announced that the 2025 fiscal year closed with sales of 1,735 million euros.
Alustiza emphasized that Fagor's cooperatives "have once again confirmed their ability to tackle difficult situations, adapting to the demands of various challenges." He noted that the international context has created market instability, but the Group's cooperatives have demonstrated "a great capacity for making important decisions." "I leave with peace of mind, knowing that Fagor maintains its essence, and I leave happy because I see that this cooperative project, so ours, has a great and promising future," he stated.
Fagor representatives explained that the international situation has directly impacted various sectors, requiring significant adaptability from the cooperatives. For instance, the entry of Chinese companies into the European market has compelled cooperatives to innovate their strategies and methods. Fagor Ederlan, for example, will soon begin supplying structural components for several electric car models from the Chinese brand Leapmotor, which has led to the reopening of the production plant in Zaragoza.
Fagor cooperatives have also continued to advance their diversification strategies. One such example is the initiative by Fagor Arrasate, in collaboration with the research center Funditec, to design, develop, and manufacture industrial humanoid robots.
Fagor upholds its social commitment, allocating 12% of its profits to such causes. In 2025, it contributed 3.1 million euros to social projects at various levels (Fagor community, Debagoiena, Basque Country, and global scale). Among others, it supported the food sovereignty initiative Debagoienako Tokixan, various regional educational projects, the citizen deliberation process for energy transition Argitzen, social projects at Arizari (ikastola Arizmendi), Haize Berri, and Shifa, as well as the Fundación Mundukide.
