The End platform has called a rally today in Eibar's Untzaga square to demand the implementation of dignified shelter services for homeless individuals, backed by 3,040 signatures.

The motion prepared by the association was not included in the agenda for today's municipal plenary session. The rally is scheduled to begin at 7:00 PM.
The name End is an abbreviation of 'Eibarko Neguko Dispositiboa' (Eibar Winter Device), referencing the winter hardships faced by the homeless. It also alludes to the English word 'end,' symbolizing the promoters' desire to put an end to this situation.
The platform emerged in mid-April 2024 after the closure of the Carmelite winter facility, the primary immediate reception resource for street-dwelling individuals in the Debabarrena region. Their core mission is to end the necessity of sleeping on the streets due to inadequate resources.
The public awareness campaign continues and has garnered over 3,000 signatures. End has expressed its willingness to meet with political parties to discuss steps for improving the reception service, setting September as a deadline.
End's project extends beyond Eibar, aiming to involve the entire Debabarrena region and Ermua. They propose the establishment of a Municipal Reception System, estimating that Eibar should have resources to assist 55 homeless individuals.
This system would have three main pillars: an immediate reception resource for emergencies, including initial assessment and referral; a day center for follow-up, support, and social intervention; and, finally, residential resources such as apartments or pensions to promote social inclusion and personal autonomy.
