Elgoibar will celebrate one of its most unique traditions from August 25 to 28: the sokamutur. This year, the RUSO, LOPENE, and IBIRI ranches will be the protagonists of the event.

The sokamutur of the San Bartolomé festivities will take place in Elgoibar on August 25, 27, and 28. Each day will feature a different ranch, and the schedules and routes will be the same throughout the three days. The event will be divided into three sectors, passing through the town's main streets.
According to the program, on August 25, the RUSO ranch will participate. Subsequently, on August 27, it will be the turn of the LOPENE ranch, and the event will conclude on August 28 with the IBIRI ranch.
The schedule for each day will be organized into three sectors. The first sector will start at 08:00 AM, covering Maala and San Frantzisko streets, until 08:45 AM. The second sector will begin at 08:45 AM from San Frantzisko to Kalebarren square, crossing Errosario and San Bartolomé streets, until 10:00 AM. Finally, the third sector will commence at 10:00 AM from Errosario and San Bartolomé to Kalakoa, passing through the church's arcade, Bolatokia, San Ignazio street, and Santa Ana street, ending at 11:00 AM. These times are approximate and may vary depending on the events of the sokamutur.
The City Council has reminded participants of some important instructions for those who wish to follow or take part in the sokamutur. Individuals under 16 years of age will not be allowed to participate. Furthermore, attendees are urged to respect public furniture and are prohibited from climbing on scaffolding or unauthorized structures. Orders and advice from authorities must be followed at all times, and harming the young bulls is forbidden. It is also noted that the barriers are intended for people within the enclosure to escape and are not viewing platforms.
The City Council apologizes for any inconvenience that may arise and reminds the public that the streets will be completely closed during the sokamutur.
