Yesterday afternoon, the Ertzaintza from Deba Urola identified and arrested two men in Aretxabaleta, who are allegedly responsible for a marijuana plantation. A patrol had detected a strong smell of the substance near some gardens and encountered two individuals leaving the area, who also appeared to carry the scent.
During an initial search, about 50 marijuana plants were found hidden in two greenhouses. Subsequently, in a nearby forest, another cultivation surrounded by trees was located, containing over 200 plants in full bloom.
In total, the Ertzaintza seized a production of approximately 300 plants. Additionally, a watering system for the plants was discovered, including several thousand-liter containers and bags of fertilizer used in the cultivation process.
The arrested men are 36 and 26 years old. After completing the proceedings, both will be handed over to the Guardia Court of Bergara.
