The new facility covers 30,000 square meters of industrial roofing at the plant. The project involved an investment of 3.2 million euros, supported by a 25% subsidy through the Basque Government's self-consumption aid program.
This infrastructure will reduce CO₂ emissions by 1,909 tons annually. Vidrala, a leader in glass packaging manufacturing, strengthens its commitment to sustainability and energy efficiency in its production processes.
During the institutional visit, the Minister of Industry, Energy Transition and Sustainability of the Basque Government highlighted the importance of developing local renewable electricity generation capacity to reduce dependence on imported fossil fuels.
