Tubos Reunidos workers will travel to Madrid on June 17th to present a Law Proposal alongside the Podemos party.

Workers from Tubos Reunidos will travel to Madrid on June 17th to participate in a plenary session of the Congress of Deputies. They are collaborating with the Podemos party on a Law Proposal, aiming to invite other political groups to join the initiative.
Through this initiative, they will request a meeting with the SEPI (State Industrial Participations Company) and the conversion of its debt, approximately 150 million euros, into shares. They will present a similar request to private creditors, such as BBVA, suggesting a partial debt write-off or conversion into shares.
Furthermore, they will demand a viability plan that guarantees industrial assets.
Initially, the unions had planned to call for strikes on June 17th and 18th to facilitate the attendance of as many workers as possible in Madrid. However, following a meeting where the withdrawal of the employment regulation file, the closure of the steel plant, and the logistical dismissals were announced, the organizations have agreed to cancel these mobilizations. Only the ESK union voted against this decision.
Nevertheless, the Workers' Committee will organize buses for those employees who wish to travel to Congress.
