The Amurrio City Council has published the official program for its festivals, which this year includes more than a hundred activities. As explained by council representatives, the program was developed "thanks to the involvement of residents, groups, associations, and collectives".
There will be a wide musical offering, with performances by artists such as Benito Kamelas, Suni, La Polaka, and Txapela Brava. Additionally, there will be romerías with Oxabi and Zutik, and performances by various DJs.
The Solidarity Food Stall will once again be present in Juan Urrutia Square, managed this year by members of the association Ezina Ekinez Egina to fund their activities. Furthermore, the fair attractions will continue to "respect functional diversity," with reduced sound and light stimuli and limited use of pyrotechnics at certain times.
A call for festivals free from gender-based violence has also been launched. To this end, an information and prevention point will be set up at the square's kiosk. The council reminds that the fight against gender-based violence is "a collective task that requires the involvement of the entire community".
The program spans several days, from August 9th to 17th, and will offer a wide range of events, including cinema in the street, pelota championships, group presentations, street parades, concerts, romerías, children's games and workshops, competitions, and professional pelota matches, among others.
